Getting its name from the word “noise” in Macedonian, the goal of Šum was exactly that. To make noise while you’re focusing, relaxing, sleeping, or to drown out distracting sounds by playing ambient or environmental noises.
Most existing web apps in this space have several shortcomings, such as limited sound personalization, unintuitive interfaces, and monetization barriers. Our goal was to address these issues and create significant improvements. By focusing on user-centric design, the aim was to deliver a seamless and highly customizable experience. But why stop there?
What was once limited personalization has now evolved into an app that allows users to mix, match, and fully customize their own soundscapes. A timer feature has been added to help users stay focused or track their relaxation sessions, while the interface has been refined for better ease of use.
